A few hundred metres away from the traditional wine cellars in a place called A Capela (‘The Chapel’) there is an impressive viewpoint overlooking the River Sil. A canonical, postcard view of the characteristic landscape of the Ribeira Sacra… one hiding many mysteries.
A Capela is home to fantastical creatures and is the setting for several of the legends and myths from Vilachá folklore. According to the locals, here lie the origins of the Community.
From A Capela one can interpret the wine-producing landscape of the Ribeira, explore the turbulent history of Torbeo (the village that can be seen across the river) and enjoy a panoramic view of the archaeological site, Os Conventos.
